The purpose of this guide, compiled by the Steel Framing Alliance, is to amalgamate fire and sound data for steel floor and wall assemblies that are relevant to residential and light commercial construction. Fire data has been compiled from the following five sources: Underwriters' Laboratories of Canada, National Research Council of Canada NRCC Institute for Research in Construction, Underwriters Laboratories Inc., Gypsum Association, Factory Mutual Research FM.
