Design Charrette
What is a Design Charrette?
The 24 architects competing in the Living Steel competition were divided into four groups of six. On Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 June the charrette teams worked to develop a master plan for the site of the new village in Cherepovets. The winning team was Eero Aarnio with seven votes from their peers. They shared the Architect's Prize of €24,000.
The team included Daniel Jenkins (ECD Architects), Lourenço Gimenes (FGMF Arquitetos), Pekka Pakkanen (H-L-P Architects), Philip Wells (Hugh Borughton Architects). Vimal Jain (Architecture Paradigm) and Fabio Cibinel (modostudio). The architectural advisor to the team was Living Steel's Christine Etzenbach. The final result of the Architect's Prize for the Master Plan was:
