Transmitting Innovative Housing Architecture: Demonstration Project Case Studies in Brazil, China, India, Poland and the UK

Living Steel will be conducting a special session at the XXIII UIA World Congress of Architecture, Torino 2008, 2 July 2008, from 9:00 AM to Noon in the Lingotto - Sala Azzura. The presentation will feature the innovative designs that have been produced through the International Architecture Competitions for Sustainable Housing and discuss sustainability and steel's role in providing efficient, effective housing solutions. We welcome you to join our session, which will be hosted by Andrew Ogorzalek, a member of the Jury for the 1st and 2nd International Architecture and Jury Chair in the 2nd competition. Speakers will include representatives from each of our five winning architect firms who will present the unique features of their designs. Following are details. The session:

Jury chair for the International Architecture Competitions for Sustainable Housing will present the competition vision for sustainable housing designs. The competition winners will present their schemes for each of the five locations—Brazil, China, India, Poland and the UK—where demonstration buildings are proceeding to construction, followed by audience discussion. Winners of a 3rd Living Steel Charrette-style competition also will be announced.
