Interview with Matti Lampila

The Living Steel Kolkata demonstration building is approaching the final stages of preparation prior to the start of construction. The team, made up of architects, engineers and steel member companies from the United Kingdom, Europe and India, has been diligently working through Indian regulations to optimise the original winning scheme for construction. Final Design for Construction

Working together with developer Bengal Shrachi and local architects Sanon Sen & Associates, Piercy Conner has developed a final design for construction of the Living Steel Kolkata Demonstration building. The new building will be ground floor plus six storeys, adding additional units than originally conceived and therefore allowing more potential occupants.

Construction Preparation Moves Ahead

The construction site for Living Steel's Kolkata demonstration at Rajarhat, New Town, is under preparation for start of construction in early 2008. Utility diversions, site office and fencing barrier assembly are all taking place in preparation for the January start. More>>   

Groundbreaking Ceremony

An official groundbreaking ceremony is currently scheduled for January 2008. Construction of a Ground + 6-storey building will begin shortly thereafter.
