nitsche arquitetos associados strongly believe that sustainability in architecture starts with good design. Since the firm was founded they have concentrated on sustainable single-family housing. The firm rationalises the construction process by industrialising the construction site. This ensures savings, speed, and reduces waste and the use of subcontracted labour.

nitsche arquitetos associados are based in Sao Paulo, Brazil where wood is plentiful. For this reason most of their existing projects have been developed using this sustainable material. The firm believes that steel can be substituted for wood, which will have the advantage of providing the design with more flexibility. The steel structure is precise, quickly assembled and capable of spanning large areas using slender parts. This makes steel an ideal material for the development of construction and structural systems that are globally reproducible and scalable.

In Helsinki nitsche arquitetos Associados will be represented by Lua Nitsche and Pedro Nitsche. Lua graduated from the School of Architecture and Urban Planning at the University of São Paulo in 1996. Pedro graduated from the same school in 2000.
