3rd Competition Finalists. Meet the architects that will compete for Extreme Housing in Cherepovets, Russia
Firm: Moxon Architects LtdThe intelligent use of steel is common to all of Moxon Architects projects, whether it is used in a discrete structural capacity, or more prominently in the envelope of larger projects. The firm is particularly enthusiastic about the potential for steel, particularly its unique physical properties including energy conduction and high strength to weight ratio.
Ben Addy is the founding Director of Moxon Architects Ltd., a chartered practice operating in the fields of both architectural research and conventional architectural practice. In 2005 Moxon was the youngest practice selected for the Corus Steel Architects Journal 40 Under 40 Awards. It has gone on to win national and international design competitions, including most recently beating 56 other design teams from the UK, US and mainland Europe to design a landmark commercial headquarters building in the Northwest of England. Ben also runs a Degree Unit in Architectural Design at the Bartlett Faculty of the Built Environment [UCL] and sits on the RIBAs Building Futures Advisory Board.
Tim Murray joined Moxon Architects Ltd as a Director in 2008. Tims current projects include the practices first large scale commercial new build project and an extensive office fit out for a multi-national law firm. Prior to joining Moxon, Tim was managing director of Murray Symonds Associates Ltd (MSA), specialising in high end commercial interior design for clients in and around central London.
