FGMF’s proposal creates a “protective bubble” around the house, which purpose is to control when and how the sun and the wind should affect it. Also, it creates an air cushion that protects the nucleus from the severe low temperatures outside, and at the same time gently absorbs the heat losses from the nucleus. The bubble spaces offer an easy transition to the outdoors. These outdoor spaces are covered and can be absorbed into the interior living area for added space in the summer months. High louvered glazing opens and draws the exterior inside and provides ventilation. In the winter, these windows can be closed to block cold winds, yet allow full advantage of precious sunlight.
